Congratulations to Daniel Lyon who earned a Bronze medal at the Junior trials last month, Daniel won 4 contests and was then disqualified in the semi final for attempting to grab the leg, after much debating between the officials the decision stood. This result earns Daniel a place on the GB U20 British squad for 2011, Sebastian Morgan Green also earned a 5th place in the U81kg Category, well done.

Three Warjukwai players are entering their final week in Japan, after a gruelling first week of 3 sessions a day training the players have just had a day off as they travelled to Tokyo to watch the Grand Slam. A fantastic performance from the NW Excell team saw them come away with a Silver medal at the Bev Price Team Championships, with the 2 Warjukwai players Shaum Holt and Daniel Lyon teaming up with Wirral's Sebastion Morgan-green putting in top display, shaun going undefeated all day, Daniel winning four of his 6 contests and Sebastion executing one of the throws of the day with a supurb Uchimata on a much heavier and experienced opponent. Well done boys.

Congratulations to Daniel Lyon on his contribution to the Senior Men's Northwest teams Gold medal in the National Team's Championships at Walsall University Campus at the weekend, Daniel stepped up from the junior u66s to help the senior team @ u73s and put in a credible performance winning 2 of his 4 contests.

Austria U20 Junior World Cup
Daniel Lyon and Shaun Holt have been selected to represent Great Britain in next months Austrian Junior World Cup in Graz - 5/6 June. They will also stay on for a 3 day training camp.
Both players have been selected to compete in the -66kg. This is a major selection for both boys and will provide an opportunity to establish their place in the GB U20 Squad.

Scottish Junior and Senior Open
Shaun Holt travelled to Glasgow to compete in the Scottish Open Championships. Shaun destroyed all his opponents in the Junior section winning every contest by Ippon to win Gold.
Shaun won 2 and lost 2 to place 5th in the Senior Championships.
